Call for Proposals: UK based 2-week summer English language course - Colombia students

CALL FOR PROPOSALS:
UK based 2-week (residential) summer English language course
for a group of twenty Junior (12-14 year old) and twenty Senior (15-17 year old) Colombian students. 


The British Council, Colombia is looking for a two-week residential language course provider in the South East of England to provide four hours of English language teaching per morning and a range of sporting and cultural activities in the afternoons for a group of English language students from Bogota, Colombia.

Accommodation

The British Council, Colombia would like to compare the costing of two options with regard to accommodation:

1.     The language school will arrange accommodation for all of the students in a residence and their staff will be responsible for supervising the students overnight.

2.     The language school will arrange accommodation and transportation for the twenty junior students in a residence and their staff will be responsible for supervising the students overnight.    The language school will arrange accommodation and transportation for the twenty senior students with local families living as close as possible to the school itself. The school will arrange for accommodation, meals and transportation for the 4 accompanying group leaders.

Duration: Two weeks

Course Dates: From 13 to 28 June 2015

Students:

  • A group of 20 Colombian Junior  English language students and a group of 20 Colombian Senior English language students currently studying English at the British Council        Colombia.   
  • Four accompanying  British Council members of staff.

Proposal terms of reference:

  • Justification
  • General and specific objectives
  • Methodology and course content
  • Additional Components and / or features to the programme (use of new technologies to support the learning of English/range of sporting/cultural activities available)
  • Assessment System
  • Materials to be used
  • Initial and final placement  test
  • Certification
  • Proposed costs/ budget
  • Child Protection Policies in place within the institution
  • Any other additional activities/ services as a plus from the language school

The breakdown of costs/ budget should include:

  • Airport transfers
  • Tuition (course fees)
  • Local transport if necessary
  • Accommodation
  • Meals (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  • Placement test on arrival and departure using the same testing system
  • Materials for each student.
  • Costs of sporting/cultural activities (entrance fees/hire of equipment etc)

Proposals will be assessed according to compliance with the terms of reference above and breakdown of costs/ budget.
