Within the framework of the International Cooperation agreement between the Colombian Ministry of Education and the government of the United Kingdom and the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2013, the British Council offers an Educational and Cultural Relations three-year programme for the Archipelago of San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina that will establish teacher exchange programmes and mobility schemes with the United Kingdom, Jamaica and other Caribbean or Commonwealth countries.

The British Council Colombia is looking for a teacher training course provider for a group of English teachers from Colombia.

Scope: To provide a teacher training programme for a group of 15 primary and secondary English teachers between levels B1 - B2 according to CEF, delivered in a UK based immersion training programme with methodology (70%)  and language ( 30%) components. ICT tools for teaching and learning English should be part of the methodology used in the immersion course.

Duration: four weeks

Course Dates: From  November 18th to December 13th 2013

Students:

• a group of 15 English Teachers working for the Local Education Authority in San Andres Island, Colombia
• one delegate from the Ministry of Education

Proposal terms of reference:

• Justification
• General and specific objectives
• Theoretical principles
• Methodology and course content (It should be a mix of 30% Language Training + 70% Methodology of English Language Teaching).
• Additional Components and / or features to the program (use of new technologies to support the learning of English.)

• Airport transfers
