Project background:

China's financial system has expanded rapidly over the last few years as monetary policy becomes increasingly integral to its overall economic policy. As a result, there is a growing demand from China’s banking sector for a wider range of skills and knowledge to meet the constantly changing challenges faced by the financial sector.

British Council China is working with a Chinese partner to create an opportunity for a service provider in the UK to provide training in light of the demand above.

Programme criteria

Aims
The online MBA programme should be:
tailored for professionals with careers in the banking sector;
providing training in strategic planning, management, and best practice in banking.

Format

• A 3-year programme with flexible course schedules is preferred.
• A substantial proportion of courses should be related to financial business. These could include accounting, finance, financial analysis, etc.
• An annual one-month study at the UK campus is required (expenses occurred to be covered by clients).

Fees

• A total of CNY100,000-150,000 for 3 years (excluding the costs occurred during study in the UK)
• It is preferred that fees are settled in two to three instalments at the beginning of each semester (as opposed to in one lump sum).

Assessment
Students should be awarded with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) after the final assessment.

Other

• The service provider should be a higher education institution recognised by the Ministry of Education in China.
• Expertise in business or finance is preferred but not essential.

Approximately 30 for the first batch of students
