Earlier this month the Indian HRD ministry announced the replacement of UGC and AICTE with a new singular regulatory body called Higher Education Empowerment Regulation Agency (HEERA). In continuation of these efforts the government is amending the current UGC and AICTE framework as the process to establish HEERA will be time consuming.
