Study UK Virtual Fair - Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka September 2021

11 September, 2021
Study UK Virtual Fair - Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka

After the huge success of Study UK Virtual Fair in October 2020 and February 2021, the British Council IES Pakistan is delighted to bring back another exciting opportunity to participate in the Virtual Fair and get a chance to meet over 2500 students from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the British Council Study UK Virtual Fair 2021. This time the fair will be bigger with more students attending, exciting and exclusive promotional opportunities on British Council social media channels featuring exclusive promotional videos.

During the pandemic, the British Council launched two Study UK Virtual Fairs in South Asia, which provided an excellent platform to the UK HEIs to interact with prospective international students. Our two virtual fairs saw over 9,000 registrations and attendance by over 5,000 students, and parents. Both our virtual fairs were well attended by UK HEI’s and we had altogether 58 UK HEI’s participated with us in both virtual fairs. we believe another round of Virtual Fair will give UK HEI’s a platform to participate with us and meet potential students across four countries

This unique activity will give an opportunity to the participating UK institutions to virtually meet potential students from across four countries, interested in higher studies abroad. This virtual fair offers a great platform to the UK Institutions to promote their courses, scholarships, intake dates, admission related information, among the students, parents, teachers, career and guidance counsellors. Just like the October and February Virtual Fairs, this Virtual Fair will also provide exclusive opportunity for the UK HEIs in brand building, recruitment and meeting potential students.

This activity will also serve as an opportunity for the participating institutions to develop future collaborations with the local counsellors. The British Council will also run advertisement campaigns featuring exclusive promo videos on British Council social media platforms for each participating UK HEIs. In today’s competitive environment an activity like the Study UK virtual Fair, will help participating UK institutions to increase awareness among local students about their institution and interact with students interested to pursue their higher studies in the UK from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka

The reports will give you an overview of the two Virtual Fairs.

The number of students applying to the UK will considerably increase as the UK Government has announced the new Graduate Immigration Route. We believe this is the right time for the UK institutions to participate in the British Council Virtual Fair and meet potential students across Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Potential students are eagerly waiting to get in touch with UK Universities representatives to finalise their study plans and hear latest information with regards to admission, scholarship, courses, accommodation, Graduate Immigration Route and life on campus The virtual fair will also connect parents with Universities representatives to get a chance to speak about their concerns and get them addressed during the Virtual Fair.

The Chart below shows higher education student enrolments for UG and PG from four markets (HESA). There has been a steady increase in the number of students from Pakistan between 2016/17 to 2019/20. The numbers from Bangladesh Nepal and Sri Lanka have also increased.

  • The virtual fair will be conducted either on Zoom or Microsoft Teams platform.
  • Each university will be provided one main room and 2 or 3 break-out rooms. All students entering any university will first land in the main room which can be used to provide generic information, presentation, etc. The crowd then can be delegated to break-out rooms for one-on-one counselling or if the university wish to use the main room only, they are free to do so.
  • We expect each university to have enough number of delegates to manage main room and break-out rooms. We suggest minimum three delegates should be there to manage these virtual rooms.
