East Asia Webinar Series 2021-22: Virtual UK Masterclass Series 15 – 26 November 2021

Following the great success of delivering Masterclass Series and Thematic Webinars in East Asia in 2020-21, the British Council East Asia team is delighted to invite UK institutions to participate in The East Asia Webinar Series 2021-22. This virtual event aims to facilitate direct engagement between UK institutions and prospective students across the region for the following:

Priority markets: Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
Additional markets: Brunei, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan

There will be two events to be organised throughout the FY 2021-22, including:

East Asia Virtual UK Masterclass Series: 15 – 26 November 2021
East Asia Virtual UK University Taster: 22 February – 17 March 2022

*Please note that each event requires a separate registration and has a separate participation fee + VAT fee.

Draft Programme

This webinar series will delve into specific subject discussions as well as practical challenges faced by students including admissions, accommodation, and on-arrival support etc. It will provide UK institutions with direct engagement with students and key influencers in markets.

Format for Masterclass series

• Each masterclass/session will feature 1 UK institution
• Each institution will deliver a taster lecture (1 hour) and Q&A (15 mins)

Masterclass Promotion

All masterclasses will be promoted through joint paid and organic promotion on the British Council channels and local networks across priority markets – Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam and organic promotions for Brunei, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan only, to engage with the target audience:

Study UK email marketing: design and distribution of e-newsletter to segmented target audience, including prospective students, parents, agents and career counsellors
British Council database and social media channels: cross-promotion to the in-country database of IELTS test takers, British Council’s Teaching Centres and British Council’s social media channels.
Local career counsellor, education agent, education institution and British Council’s partner networks: event promotion emails to the British Council’s career counsellor, agent, education institution and partner networks across East Asia.
Paid promotions on digital marketing platforms, including social media
Weibo and WeChat

The British Council reserves the right to cancel the event if minimum participation numbers are not met.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation fees will be charged for withdrawal from this event, as of the date of receipt of notice of withdrawal:

- 50 per cent of the full exhibition cost for withdrawals received on or after 5 October 2021

- 100 per cent of the full exhibition cost for withdrawals received on or after 8 October 2021
