Host master's and PhD scholars from Indonesia

UK universities are invited to submit an expression be become a host institution for postgraduate scholarship scheme funded by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).  

The scheme will provide full scholarships for BMKG staff and scientists/researchers to study master and PhD at overseas universities. There are 500 scholarships available between 2023 and 2030. 

BMKG is the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency of Indonesia, a non-departmental government body. It has over two thousand staff across 185 offices and weather observation stations. Its mission is to co-ordinate, observe, collect, and provide reliable data on atmospheric, climate, and geophysics phenomenon, as well as to foster collaboration with international partners. BMKG is a member of World Meteorological Organisation. 

How to apply

Interested UK universities must submit an expression of interest (max. ten pages), including:

  • cover letter
  • brief profile of university and department/college
  • list of PhD supervisors and their research focus (and links to their profile/biography)
  • enrolment requirements, start date (intake), length of study
  • total tuition fees for the whole PhD duration
  • other costs for BMKG’s consideration such as accommodation costs, standard living allowances, NHS surcharges, pre-sessional English course, any other related costs
  • contact details.
