The largest ever delegation of UK Higher Education leaders visited India from 6-10 June 2022.
The five-day visit was jointly organised by the British Council, Department for Education and Department for International Trade Education team, working with Universities UK International.
The programme included a range of curated sessions, institutional and state visits and briefings and opportunities for interaction engagement between the Indian and UK higher education sectors. Delegation
During the workshop, two MoUs were signed, draft recommendations for effective joint governance structures to drive collaboration at both G2G and institutional level were produced, and 15 new connections made between UK and Indian Universities currently being pursued amongst other outcomes. In addition, press and communication of the visit generated 126 stories in total across print and online outlets, leading to 1Bn+ overall reach.
More visits are planned and the next one is likely to be in September 2022, details of which are under development and will be communicated through our CARI website.

We are also enclosing a slide pack about the GIFT city which was presented by its CEO during the visit. This is India’s first international financial services and technology centre which is inviting international educational institutions to open campus and deliver programmes in Financial Management, FinTech, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
