The British Council hosted a pre-event All India Briefing for the Study UK India Virtual Fair India on 04 December. The briefing was attended by about 70 guests from 47 UK institutions.

The event included a welcome note by Barbara Wickham OBE, (Director India British Council) and a market briefing by Janaka Pushpanathan (Director, South India, British Council). Janaka gave an economic overview of the Higher Education landscape in India, with a focus on factors that influences change in India, Local education trends, popular subjects, New Education Policy-key pivots and opportunities for UK, highlights from our Student and Agent survey and a update on COVID and its impact on education industry.

The virtual fair held on 5 December 2020 had 47 UK universities and institutions participating, and saw a footfall of 3250. A detailed report will follow.
