British Council Turkey organises School Visits in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir biannually in spring and autumn periods in order to bring college counsellors and students with the UK Higher Education Institutions together. The visits have attracted growing number of the UK institutions and been organised to the major high schools with the participant UK Institutions’ support since 2007. Over the years, the visits have helped the UK institutions to raise their profile as well as establishing strong and sustainable relations with wide range of prestigious schools.

The format of the visits is mini fair set up lasting 1.5 hrs at each school and each UK University has a table that students can come along and talk to the universities. Depending on the availability of the schools and their students, there are also talk sessions including introduction information for studying and living in the UK, application process, personal statement and accommodation.

The recent School Visits have been held in March 2012 and nine schools have been visited in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
