Joined by 55 UK institutions and schools, the EEFT 2013 saw a growth of 30 per cent in the number of visitors in Taipei, with positive feedback from exhibitors regarding the quality and number of enquiries received.
A special arrangement was made in Taipei to maximise the UK’s presence in the EEFT, featuring three iconic garments from Vivienne Westwood that showcased the UK’s excellence in creativity. The fair was run in conjunction with a Facebook campaign ‘Love Great Britain’ promoting publications, seminars, EEFT and a survey that invited 656 participants to vote for their preferences in studying in the UK and what they expect from exhibitions. As a result, the fair in Taipei attracted 7,300 visitors over the weekend.
The fair in Kaohsiung was quieter than last year. As the EEFT has never held the event on weekends outside of Taipei, it has been proposed as an option to be investigated in addition to partnering with local HEIs for a better audience reach.
In terms of market development, business related studies and art and design at postgraduate level received the most enquiries according to visitors and exhibitors, yet some institutions commented that they have noticed more interest in undergraduate courses and a wide range of subject areas.
