and over thirty Indonesian institutions including Institut Teknonogi Bandung (ITB), Gadjah Mada University, and the University of Indonesia. The events were hosted in Jakarta at Atma Jaya University, in Surabaya at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), and in Bandung at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). All UK institutions delivered presentations on their particular areas of strength in Engineering teaching and research. The afternoon sessions involved one on one discussion between UK and Indonesian faculty, giving academics an opportunity to explore in more detail possible areas of collaboration. UK institutions reported great interest in UK PhD , and in particular the Indonesian Directorate of Higher Education (DIKTI) scholarship scheme.
Many of the participants are keen to repeat this event and the British Council Indonesia is now looking to establish follow up activity.
