The British Council organised Education UK Information Day at Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka on 29 October 2016. The event was a compilation of the participation of local representatives of reputed UK institutions and a seminar on Studying and Living in the UK. There were 15 local representatives from the British Council trained agent scheme along with other representatives who participated on behalf of their partner UK institutions. There were more than 150 potential students who took counselling advice from the local representatives. Students received important information on IELTS, scholarships and English Language courses offered by the Teaching Centres from the British Council stall. The British Council also welcomed Standard Chartered Bank to participate in the event as they offered student loans to the potential students who showed interest to study in the UK and wanted to provide study loans to cover their expenses.

The seminar on Studying and Living in the UK helped the students in getting useful advice and information on studying and living in the UK. They got updated information on the Tier-4 student visa, application process, eligibility criteria, information on the work permit and part time job facilities as well. Later on, a video on the UK alumni was presented to the audience to highlight the success story of the UK alumni and the excellence of the UK education. The visitors and the participants appreciated this initiative taken by the British Council and showed much interest to attend this kind of events in the future.
