In November 2015 British Council Germany held their annual tour, which covered four cities (Munich, Frankfurt, Koln and Berlin).
Whilst visitor numbers are not recorded, the feedback from exhibitors (29 UK Institutions were signed up for this tour) was that there were a great deal of “Serious enquiries”. This is worth mentioning as German students do a great deal of research before coming to a fair and will often have a (long) list of (detailed) questions and will target the few institutions that they are really interested in, rather than talking en masse to every institution present.
The event proved hugely successful, with 100% of the exhibitors expressing an interest in next year’s fair.
Similarly, In January 2016 British Council Germany a further tour, which covered three cities (Bochum, Hannover and Hamburg), with 26 UK Institutions in attendance.
In order to cover more cities in Germany and address the demand from UK institutions we set up a second tour. The plan is to reorganise the tours to make logistics and travel easier and less time-consuming.
From November 2016/ January 2017 we plan to move Berlin into the January tour, thus creating a West to South Germany tour including Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich plus another city in November, and an East to West Germany tour including Berlin, Hamburg, Bochum, Hanover in January.
