We are pleased to report a modest 9 per cent increase in visitor numbers in Kuala Lumpur compared to the previous year. We recorded a drop in visitor numbers in Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Although there has been no major shifts in subject trends in Kuala Lumpur please refer to the report for the shift in subject trend in Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. Although this is not recorded in our report for we only reported the top five subjects, we learnt that more people are interested in ‘Agriculture’. For example, in Kuala Lumpur there were 28 people interested in Agriculture but this number grew to 163; in Penang last year only one person was interested in Agriculture, this year we recorded 31 people. In Kuching it was zero interest but this March there were 13 people.

We are grateful to UCAS and the following institutions for contributing excellent articles for the newspapers: Aberystwyth University, Anglia Ruskin University, Brighton University, University of Birmingham, University of Portsmouth and University of Strathclyde.

The food & beverage offering at the KL Convention Centre seemed to draw more flak compared to the other cities. As the cost of venue rental and food & beverage increase on an annual basis, we resolve to spend less on catering at the KL Convention Centre and spend more on advertising and marketing.
