With the study abroad market in Japan showing signs of improvement, there was a feeling of quiet optimism surrounding this year's Education UK Exhibition.

The various government initiatives to promote study abroad were finally starting to bear fruit and with an increase in UK institutions taking part in this year's event (partly due to the reduced participation fee compared to the previous year) there was confidence that there would be an increase in the number of visitors.

Ultimately 740 students took part in the event, an impressive increase of 28% on the previous year's figure. After decreasing visitor numbers for the past several years, this increase came as a welcome relief and the hope is that the market will continue to improve going forwards.
