It is three years now that the British Council in Azerbaijan has delivered marketing services successfully to the UK educational institutions through SIEM. Recently they hosted their fifth Education UK exhibition on the 7-8 November 2015 with 29 UK universities, schools, colleges and ELT providers. Half of the top 30 UK universities joined the autumn event.
This report consists of key statistics of the event, exhibitors and visitors feedbacks analysis, marketing activities description and related activities of the exhibition, as well as a few useful recommendations for UK educational institutions for further events. There are also a few inspirational photos from the exhibition and some local media links that covered the exhibition before and during the event.
British Council Azerbaijan will organize two exhibitions in 2016, first we will welcome colleges, schools and English language training providers in Baku on 12 March for the schools and colleges exhibition, then again in 22-23 October we will host autumn exhibition which will be open for all kind of educational institutions from the UK. Registration is open for both events.
The UK was the number one destination according to the number of students in the State Scholarship Program on Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad. Starting from 2007 during last 9 years total number of students were sent to the UK was 861. Beside this 50% of the total undergraduate and postgraduate students and 100 % of school and colleges students are self-funded. Around 500 self-funded students are going to the short term courses recent years from Azerbaijan. It is emerging market with great potential for upcoming years.
