British Council Bangladesh and the UK Alumni Association of Bangladesh (UKAAB) jointly organised an alumni networking session and a press briefing to launch the Association's activities. Dr Gowher Rizvi, Adviser to the Honourable Prime Minister, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and said, “I am pleased that Bangladesh’s UK Alumni have organised this Association where through a common platform they will be able to bank on UK’s positive strengths.’

Matthew Knowles, Acting Director of British Council Bangladesh, in his welcome speech, said “I hope that members will become active and keep the Association thriving.”

The programme started with the registration of UK alumni in the British Council Alumni Network as well as in the newly formed UK Alumni Association of Bangladesh (UKAAB). About two hundred UK alumni have registered with British Council Bangladesh.

The event began with Borendra Lal Tripura, Project Manager- International Higher education, British Council and two other UK alumni shared their experience of attending the Asia Regional UK Alumni Event held in Dubai organised by British Council, where 46 delegates from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Malaysia received a 3 day long leadership breakthrough training.
