The British Council are working with the Zhongshan Education Bureau to establish a UK-China Experimental Zone. This will bring together consortia from Zhongshan and the UK to work on a wide range of large scale TVET collaboration programmes. This is a response to the Zhongshan Education Bureau’s strong drive to use international collaboration to train up highly skilled young people who can meet the needs of a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.

The British Council is currently offering the opportunity for British skills organisations who are interested in developing consortia partnership projects to apply for a travel grant to take part in a visit to Guangzhou and Zhongshan in March 2014.

This visit will be an opportunity to:

  • take part in a one day UK-China Vocational Education Policy Dialogue, March 24, 2014 in Guangzhou
  • visit Zhongshan City to explore options for partnership projects that will pilot at a local city level innovative new approaches to international skills development.

The Zhongshan UK China Experimental zone is now on the Skills for Employability website.
