The School of Foreign Languages at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) in Wuhan is looking for a UK partner to cooperate on a 2-3 week summer student exchange programme. The programme aims to recruit up to 30 students, starting in July 2017. The focus will be on improving students’ knowledge and skills in Business English as well as Business Culture, Intercultural Business Communication, Critical Thinking, Discourse Analysis and other related subjects.
A more detailed curriculum could be discussed with UK partner universities based on their teaching resources and academic strengths.

UK partner
The selected UK partner will be expected to work with ZUEL to:
- design and develop the curriculum for the programme
- provide support in the quality assurance of the programme
- arrange local accommodation and catering services for the students (costs to be covered by ZUEL).
Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) will be responsible for:
- promoting the programme to students with degrees in Business English or English Literature (both BA and MA holders to be considered)
- recruiting students for the programme
- covering the costs of local accommodation and catering services.
Brief introduction to ZUEL
Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) is located in Wuhan, a city of 10 million people which is currently 8th in China’s GDP rankings. A Project 211 and 985 university, ZUEL sits directly under the Ministry of Education, and is part of the national endeavour to build world-class universities in the 21st century. ZUEL is ranked number two among the top ten Chinese universities in Business and Law.
The Department of Applied English at the School of Foreign Languages at ZUEL offers a BA in Business English. Their aim is to provide students with multidisciplinary tools and hands-on experience to excel in an increasingly English-centric business environment. Graduates of the school have a good command of the English language and a fundamental understanding of a range of other disciplines including economics, management, and law. The focus of the degree is to equip students with strong Business English communication competence and enable them to work in an increasingly globalized environment of international trade, management, finance, and law.
