Zhejiang University City College is seeking UK partners for joint undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in computer sciences and engineering.
Introduction of Chinese partner
Zhejiang University City College (ZUCC), based in Hangzhou, East China, was jointly founded by Hangzhou Municipal Government and Zhejiang University in 1999, making it the first independent college established by a top-ranking university in China. Currently, 13,000 undergraduate students are enrolled on 35 programmes across nine faculties.
ZUCC wants to expand its international offering with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in partnership with UK institutions. These could follow 1+1+2, 3+1+1 or 4+0 programme models. The joint programmes would focus on ZUCC’s three key faculties, which are the School of Computer & Computing Science, the School of Information & Electrical Engineering, and the School of Engineering.
The preferred subjects are:
• computing science
• software engineering
• information management
• communication engineering
• electronic technology
• automatic engineering
• civil engineering
• mechanical and electronic engineering
• mechanical manufacture
• architecture.
ZUCC is also open to student exchanges and credit transfer arrangements, with a strong interest in securing preferential postgraduate admission into UK partner institutions for its undergraduate students.
For more information about ZUCC please visit http://english.zucc.edu.cn/
UK providers should be top-ranking universities and must be able to award bachelor’s and master’s degree qualifications.
For direct recruitment of ZUCC’s students into UK postgraduate degrees, a scholarship provided by the UK partner would be desirable.
UK providers interested in this opportunity should contact xu.xun@britishcouncil.org.cn, attaching a short introduction of their institution and an outline of their subject strengths.
