Xiamen University’s College of Foreign Languages and Cultures wants to expand its international offering to its students and is looking for a UK partner to deliver a 1+3 bachelor’s degree programme. The 1 year study in Xiamen University would act as a foundation year and it is expected that those students who meet the English language proficiency requirements would be enrolled on to one of the 3 year BA undergraduate degree courses offered by the UK partner.
The 1+3 programme would recruit from 20 to 25 students annually starting from September 2016.
Expectation of UK partner:
The UK partner university should be able to offer at least 3 types of BA undergraduate degree courses for the students who complete the foundation year in Xiamen to choose from. The University should have strengths in the following subject fields: Business, Finance and Management.

The College of Foreign Languages, established in 1923, encompasses the Department of English Language and Literature, the Department of Foreign Language Education, the Department of Japanese Language and Literature, the Department of European Language and Literature, and the Department of French Language and Literature. The College offers five undergraduate programs, English, Japanese, French, Russian and German, one PhD program, and one centre for post-doctoral research of foreign languages and literature. It has 1,189 students, including 48 PhD students, 237 MA students and 904 undergraduates.

Xiamen, also historically known as Amoy, is a major city in Fujian Province on the southeast coast of China with a population of 3.5 million.
