Opportunity
Wuxi Institute of Technology is looking for a UK partner to support its international education and cultural exchange programmes in 2017 by:
- jointly developing a 3+1 joint programme in the field of marketing management, accounting and finance at a level equivalent to NVQ 4 (BTEC 5&6), and to recruit around 40-45 students each year
- providing education and cultural exchange programmes for students and teachers from Wuxi Institute of Technology

- build a long-term partnership with one of the top higher vocational colleges in East China, with possible expansion and further collaboration in future
- raise their institution’s profile and brand awareness in China
- receive financial reimbursement for their support, to be further negotiated with Wuxi Institute of Technology
Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties
The selected UK partner will be expected to work with Wuxi Institute of Technology to:
- jointly develop the curriculum for the joint programme
- jointly develop tailor-made cultural exchange programmes for students and teachers
- provide support in the quality assurance of all the above programmes
Wuxi Institute of Technology will be responsible for:
- promoting and recruiting students and faculty members for the programmes
- providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical support for the joint programme
Brief introduction of the Wuxi Institute of Technology
Wuxi Institute of Technology is a state-owned public higher vocational institute. It is one of the top national higher vocational model colleges in China. Currently, Wuxi Institute of Technology has about 12,000 full-time students and a faculty of nearly 800. It offers 45 majors and is taking part in around 20 national scientific research projects in co-operation with the National Science Foundation, the National Social Science Foundation, and the Ministry of Education.
Wuxi Institute of Technology has established collaborative programmes with nearly 200 companies, enabling students to participate in internship and traineeship programmes. It is also rich in international exchange experiences. It has also established exchange and co-operation programmes for students and teachers with various colleges and educational institutions in more than ten countries and regions, including the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and Singapore. In 2014, Wuxi Institute of Technology recruited its first group of International students from Indonesia, Iran, Ghana, Liberia and Laos. Now there are more than 80 International students from nine countries studying at the Institute.
