The British Council in Vietnam is working with the Ministry of Education and Training to organise the workshop on ‘Implementation of Vietnam Internationalisation of Higher Education Strategy’, and would like to call for participation from UK universities who are in the EA region/Vietnam during the time of the workshop.

Time: 0830 – 1330, Friday 18 August 2017

Venue: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The aims of the workshop are:

  • Providing inputs for the draft of the Vietnam Internationalisation of Higher Education Strategy (IHES) project by sharing UK experience and practice on implementing its internationalisation of higher education
  • Calling for participation in the Vietnam UK higher education network who implements collaborative programmes to support the implementation of the IHES. The draft IHES currently addresses priorities in the development of university governance; education and training as TNE, QA, etc.; Research collaboration; and Student Mobility.

Participants will include Department of Higher Education, Vietnam International Education Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training; Universities UK International, UK universities, and Vietnamese universities.

Draft agenda of the meeting includes:

  • Introduction of the draft IHES for Vietnam
  • UK Internationalisation of higher education – case studies
  • Discussion on Vietnam challenges in the higher education system, and UK good practice
  • Discussion of the establishment and execution of the Vietnam UK higher education network

Participants are responsible for their own travel and expenses to attend the workshop.
