Keeping with the trends and the growth in the world of cyberspace, British Council started offering virtual exhibitions and this will be the third successful year we will be offering this platform to UK institutions.

Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) cube report 2011 indicates that as of September 2011 there are 112 million Internet users: 88 million from urban cities and 24 million from rural villages. Compared to last year, there has been a growth of around 13 per cent. Of the active Internet users in urban cities, 26.3 million access internet through their mobile phones. Youngsters in India continue to drive internet usage in India. Emails, Education, Social Networking, Music and Text chatting are the most popular activities amongst Urban Internet users. Of 79 million active internet users, 87 per cent of Urban Internet users use internet at least once a week.

British Council will be offering an online exhibition to engage with prospective students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. It will be delivered through specially created microsite where UK institution will be profiled. Apart from profiling there would be interactive chat sessions, offline query section and webinars.  The event is likely to be held in October 2012.
