The William T. Grant Foundation invests in high-quality research focused on reducing inequality and improving the use of research evidence in decisions that affect young people in the United States. The British Council USA is looking to partner with UK based academics to amplify and fund their research outside of the UK through an application to the foundation.

Funding priorities and focus areas are exclusively on improving youth outcomes in the United States (ages 5-25) through one of two interventions:
1) Reducing inequality (ranging between $100,000-$600,000 over 2-3 years), or;
2) Improving the use of research evidence (ranging between $100,000-$1,000,000 over 2-3 years).

The foundation seeks research that builds stronger theory and empirical evidence in these two areas, and to inform change rather than merely identify problems. While they do not expect that any one study will create that change, the research should contribute to a body of useful knowledge to improve the lives of young people.

All proposals must align with the focus areas, demonstrate sound theoretical grounding and demonstrate feasibility. British Council USA will provide support and 501(c)3 status for this proposal.
