British Council Canada is hosting an event at Canada House in London on 22nd Nov to celebrate the great tradition of Canadians studying in the UK.  Sponsored by the GREAT campaign, this event will feature a short film, The UK Experience, which highlights some high-profile UK alumni.

This event in London follows on from previews in Ottawa and Toronto which were co-hosted by the Director of British Council Canada and the British High Commissioner and Consul General respectively.

The UK Experience is a love letter to the UK, which highlights some prominent Canadians who were participants of British Council programs facilitating their studies in the UK.  Canadians interviewed in the film include the Bank of Canada’s Governor Mark Carney, rugby legend Gareth Rees and founder of War Child Canada Dr. Samantha Nutt. Musicians include classical pianist Angela Hewitt, organist and director of music Matthew Larkin and jazz singer Diane Nalina de Kerkhove -- who is also a physicist. Other interviewees are Sheridan College’s professor of screenwriting Maureen McKeon, Carleton University professor of anthropology Louise de la Gorgondière and gender and diversity specialist Meharoona Ghani.
