The trainer
Lucy Butters is a highly regarded trainer, speaker and coach with 20 years’ experience of working across cultures. She specialises in professional development which supports people working in international and culturally diverse environments. Lucy is accredited by the British Council to facilitate their Intercultural Fluency training and certified as a Cultural Intelligence facilitator by the Cultural Intelligence Center (USA).
Currently based in the UK, since 2010 she has been Director of Elembee Ltd, the training and coaching business she founded. Lucy’s impressive track record of intercultural training provision includes audiences with vastly diverse backgrounds, across a wide range of sectors and career stages, from students and graduates to senior educators and business leaders.
Prior to 2010 Lucy worked with the British Council in various roles which supported the international ambitions of universities and colleges in the UK; this work involved engaging with people from 80 countries around the world in roles ranging from developing employability skills with international students in the UK to managing a leadership development programme across nine Arab countries and the UK. Lucy joined the British Council from academia, where she held research and teaching roles.
The course
The Intercultural Fluency Essentials course prepares you to navigate different contexts, by giving you a deeper understanding of how culture affects behaviour, and teaching you how to adapt your communications to engage with people from different cultures, whether that may be students, colleagues or key external stakeholders.
The one-day interactive course takes place on Tuesday 28 March 2017 in London.
