UK universities are invited to participate in the British Council’s transnational education (TNE) zone at the China International Education Exhibition Tour 2018 which is scheduled to take place in Beijing on 24 and 25 March. The TNE Zone will celebrate the strength of UK China TNE programmes and is now open for applications from all UK universities.
The UK currently has 276 TNE partnerships in China at the bachelor’s degree level and above, (including both joint programmes and joint institutes) which have been formally approved by the Ministry of Education, a 23% market share. In the last five years student enrolment in UK TNE programmes has seen an average growth rate of 12%[1] per year, demonstrating that Chinese students are increasingly turning their attention to premium domestic education opportunities. It is therefore important for UK institutions to continue raising awareness of their individual TNE programmes in a growing but increasingly competitive market.
The purpose of the TNE zone is twofold. Firstly the zone is designed to raise awareness and inform Chinese students and members of the public of the overall benefits of studying on UK China TNE programmes. Secondly the zone will provide UK universities with an effective platform to recruit prospective students to their TNE programmes by highlighting their individual strengths whilst raising their institution’s overall profile.
