Tianjin Polytechnic University was founded in 1912 and currently has a student body of 24,000 undergraduate students and more than 2,800 postgraduates. Five schools at the university are seeking UK partners for joint programmes.
1) School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering

Brief introduction of the school
The School of Environmental and Chemical engineering offers four bachelor degrees in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, applied chemistry and pharmaceutical engineering; two Master of Science degrees in chemical engineering and technology, and environmental science and engineering; two Master of Engineering degrees in chemical engineering and environmental engineering; and one PhD degree in environmental material science and engineering.
The school’s research focuses on the areas of chemical and environmental engineering, including membrane science and technology for water treatment, air purification, environmental chemistry, functional material engineering and process intensification, green energy and clean production technology, environmental catalysis, and textile chemicals.
2) School of Electronics and Information Engineering

Subject focus: electronic information science and technology, electronics information engineering
Brief introduction of the school
The School of Electronics and Information Engineering offers five undergraduate programmes: electronics information engineering, electronic information science and technology, electronic science and technology, communications engineering and biomedical engineering. The school also offers three master degrees in first class disciplines (electronics and information engineering, electronic information science and technology, and biomedical engineering), three engineering master disciplines (electronics and communication engineering, integrated circuit engineering and biomedical engineering), and one PhD degree in a second class discipline (materials testing technology and systems).
The School of Electronics and Information Engineering is one of the national government’s comprehensive investment disciplines in Tianjin. It consists of many laboratories and research centers, such as the Tianjin Semiconductor Lighting Technology Engineering Center, the High-power Semiconductor Lighting Applications Engineering Research Center, the Electronic Information Research Center, and the Experimental Center of Electronic Information.
3) School of Art & Fashion

Subject focus: clothing and fashion design, graphic fashion design, product design, ceramic design, art design, public architecture design
Brief introduction of the School of Art and Fashion
The School of Art and Fashion has been running for 30 years and enjoys a strong national reputation. It is divided into five majors, including clothing and fashion design, visual communication design, environment design, clothing design and engineering and fashion show. It offers master degree programmes in first-level disciplines including art, professional master degree programmes including clothing design and engineering, and doctoral degree programmes.
The school enjoys local government support due to combining art, science and technology subjects with theoretical and practical teaching approaches to prepare students for the creative industry.
4) School of Marxism
Programme level: postgraduate
Model: articulation programmes (joint degrees), joint research, student exchanges
Subject focus: education, education of social science theory
Brief introduction of the School of Marxism
The School of Marxism was authorised as an independent school in April 2011. The college is responsible for delivering ideological and political theory courses for all undergraduate and postgraduate students in the university as well as research on Marxism theory, discipline development, and the development of ideological and political major postgraduates.
5) School of Humanity and Law
Programme level: undergraduate and postgraduate
Model: 3+1+1 joint programmes, articulation programmes (joint degrees), research exchange, student exchanges, summer courses
Subject focus: broadcast production and law
