The British Council is seeking experienced research teams to participate in collaborative research and materials design projects that support public sector English teacher Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in rural and under-developed parts of China’s Yunnan Province. In coordination with key China partners, three CPD-oriented projects have been identified across pre-and in-service sectors, linked through a common aim to establish communities of professional learning at the core of a sustainable and scalable approach to professional development that can support English teachers in the longer term.
Each of the three projects has its own individual outputs based on a specific contextual focus, but it is hoped that the 3 projects can also be strongly inter-linked to provide a more robust, impactful connection between pre-service and in-service teacher development. The proposed research projects will offer a comprehensive foundation of insightful research with accompanying practical outputs of provincial and national relevance.
Individual applications or consortium approaches that wish to cover more than one project simultaneously are welcomed.
