Opportunity
Taiyuan University of Technology is looking for UK partners to develop and deliver joint 3+1 undergraduate articulation programmes in the fields of computer science and software engineering, with the aim of recruiting up to 40 students per year.

This is an opportunity for the selected UK partners to establish long-term partnerships with one of the top engineering universities in Northwest China, with potential for expansion into other fields, such as student and faculty exchange programmes or joint research. It is also an opportunity for the UK partners to raise their institutions’ profiles and brand awareness in China, which may benefit student recruitment.
Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties
The selected UK partners will be expected to work with Taiyuan University of Technology to:
- develop the curricula for the joint programmes
- provide support in the quality assurance of the programmes
Taiyuan University of Technology will be responsible for:
- promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
- providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical support for the joint programmes
- supporting prospective students in preparing to study in the UK as part of the programmes
About Taiyuan University of Technology
Taiyuan University of Technology, located in Taiyuan city, the capital and largest city of Shanxi Province, was founded in 1902. It is one of China’s top technology universities, and is under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education. The university is one of 116 higher education institutions in China designated as a Project 211 university for offering advanced degree programmes and meeting certain scientific, technical, and HR standards. It has strengths in scientific research and technological development, and has undertaken several key national research projects. It is now seeking to expand its international offering by establishing joint programmes with UK partners in computer science and software engineering.

Timeline
Taiyuan University of Technology would like to schedule reciprocal visits in May 2017, with a view to confirming a partnership in June 2017. Applications to gain approval for the joint programmes would be submitted in September 2017.
