The UK has been made a country of honour at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2018 and will have a prominent national pavilion to showcase the best of British exports with strong emphasis on UK services industries. The pavilion will be a demonstration of UK innovation featuring digital and virtual technology to display cutting-edge content covering sectors including Trade in Services (including Education), Medical Equipment & Healthcare Products, Automobiles, Food & Agricultural Products, High-end Intelligent Equipment, Apparel, Accessories & Consumer Goods, Consumer Electronics & Appliances etc.
The British Council has reserved an exclusive space in the UK pavilion for a few hours on one of the public days to promote UK education (Study UK) opportunities at the expo.
The space is open for bidding by interested UK institutions to host interactive sessions and showcase their cutting-edge research or teaching content to public visitors.
Specific time slots will be confirmed closer to the date of the CIIE.
Participating institutions will:
- have an exclusive space that can host 50-70 participants for a 30-40-minute session
- manage the content of the session with support from the British Council
- be able to invite alumni and prospective students to attend the interactive sessions

About CIIE
CIIE is jointly hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and Shanghai Municipal Government and will take place from 5-10 November in Shanghai. CIIE is positioned as a top priority and policy initiative by the Chinese government and will be the largest import expo ever in China.

What is the cost?
The selected UK institutions will be offered one session free of charge.
Please note, participating institutions will need to cover the relevant cost for staff transportation and venue set up (if required).
