Shenyang Pharmaceutical University seeks UK university partner to establish a joint 1+1+1 Master’s degree programme in Pharmacy, with the second or third year in the UK.

Shenyang Pharmaceutical University

Shenyang Pharmaceutical University was established in 1931 and is one of only two comprehensive pharmaceutical universities in China.

It specializes in the following subject areas: Pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical engineering, traditional Chinese medicine and bio-engineering.

The university faculty staff includes 88 professors, 203 associate professors, 267 lecturers and 44 scientific researchers.

Its student body consists of 6,691 undergraduate students, 1,873 master’s students, 420 doctoral students and 1,366 college diploma students.

It has established relationship with 54 universities and institutions from 16 countries.

Education in Shenyang City and Liaoning Province

Education authorities are pursuing a balanced development across basic, secondary and higher education, and are stressing the importance of vocational education in meeting employer needs. Improvements in teaching quality are also a priority.

Education authorities are active in international cooperation and there are currently ten partnerships with the UK that have been approved by the Ministry of Education.

The UK is one of the most popular study destinations among students in the province. In 2013, more than 1,800 applications for Tier 4 student visas were submitted in Liaoning Province, the 11th highest of all Chinese provinces, and an increase of 14 per cent on the previous year.

Shenyang is a strong market for students going overseas for postgraduate study.

Education authorities and institutions in Shenyang are very active in international cooperation and exchanges and there are currently 17 joint programmes and institutes approved by the Ministry of Education, with three UK-China partnerships.
