Baoji University of Arts and Sciences in Baoji, Shaanxi Province, is looking for UK partners to deliver 2+2 or 1+2+1 dual bachelors’ degree articulation courses in the following areas:
- Chemistry
- Electronic Engineering
- Geographic Environment

This is an opportunity for the selected UK partners to establish long-term partnerships with one of the key universities in Shaanxi, with potential for expansion into other fields, such as student and faculty exchange programmes or joint research. It is also an opportunity for the UK partners to raise their institutions’ profiles and brand awareness in China, which may benefit student recruitment.
Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties
The selected UK partners will be expected to work with the Baoji University of Arts and Sciences to:
- develop the curricula for the articulation courses
- provide support in the quality assurance of the articulation programmes
- issue a Bachelor’s degree to students upon successful completion of the articulation programme.
Baoji University of Arts and Sciences will be responsible for:
- promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
- providing the required teaching premises and logistical support for the articulation programmes
- supporting prospective students in preparing to study in the UK as part of the programmes.
About Baoji University of Arts and Sciences
Baoji University of Arts and Sciences, based in Baoji, Shaanxi Province, was founded in 1958. Over 16,000 full-time students are currently studying in over 40 subjects in 17 departments. Among these subjects, electronic engineering and geographic environment have been nominated as the experimental reform subjects by the Shaanxi provincial government.
Baoji University of Arts and Sciences has actively set up partnerships with institutes in USA, Japan, Russia, and the UK for wide-ranging academic exchanges and co-operation programmes such as students exchanges.
About Baoji
Located in the west of Shaanxi Province, Baoji is the joint point of Xian, Lanzhou, Yinchuan and Chengdu. Baoji has a population of approximately 800,000 and is a largely industrial city. Baoji Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, established in 1992, was approved as a national hi-tech zone by the State Council, China. The Hi-Tech zone is encouraging growth in auto parts, electronics, IT, pharmaceutical and bioengineering industries.
Timeline
The Chinese university would like to schedule reciprocal visits in June 2017, with a view to confirming a partnership in July or August 2017.
