Provide a prize for a competition for English learners and get access to potential students in the rapidly developing countries of Wider Europe.
Under the umbrella of the SEE Into the Future: Skills, Entrepreneurship and Employment In 21st Century initiative, the British Council is organizing a series of English language competitions held in 15 countries across Wider Europe.
The competitions will highlight English as one of the key skills for better employment opportunities in the modern world and will reach up to a million English learners in Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Georgia, Israel, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Uzbekistan.
Opportunity for you
- Reach audiences in 15 countries of the rapidly developing region of Wider Europe.
- Increase visitor numbers to your website through collaboration with the British Council resource Learn English and local media
- Maximize your brand’s visibility by associating it brand with the British Council and Learn English website
How can you do it?
Sponsor one or several in-country competitions by providing short term English language course(s) to the winner(s) – summer course, ESP course, 2-3 week course during the year. Depending on the type of the programme we’ll ensure that it is promoted through the right channels to give your brand as much exposure as possible. We expect the sponsor to cover course and accommodation fees + flights to the UK + transfer from London to the school (if applicable) + visa fees.
Benefits to you
Competitions will be promoted through Learn English Website, aimed at adult learners of English, graduate and post-graduate students, young and experienced professionals interested in continuous English improvement (quarterly reach over 450,000 people across 15 countries in WE), through country British Council websites, Facebook, Twitter and local social media, where our posts, photos and tweets reach out to more than 700,000 fans and followers.
In addition to this popular resource, a media partner will be identified in each country, who will disseminate the message through their channels tripling the audience reach.
This is an excellent, cost-effective way to display your brand and attract new customers which has worked extremely well in the past:
Adell Mitchell (Live Language School, prize provider): “I’m happy to share with you that Russian speaking visitors are now ranked 4th on our website –the numbers were a lot lower last year. The increase is 320% in May and 520% in June. … We would like to thank the 1480 people who made an effort to enter this competition. The interest in our school has been overwhelming and we truly appreciate the effort made by the British Council Moscow team in creating this opportunity. All of the entries you sent us touched us and we felt closer to the people of Russia through reading these essays”.
Timeline
Competitions will run in two waves, starting from November 2014.
