The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) is looking for a training of trainers programme in Strategic Planning and Horizon Scanning for up to ten researchers to be trained either in Brunei or overseas. Preferably, a short training course maximum of one week and delivered at the latest by March 2016.
CSPS is a government-funded research think tank set up to undertake independent and objective policy research and analysis on strategic issues concerning Brunei Darussalam. CSPS have completed several projects including policy advice and recommendations for the government in the fields of energy, land optimization, land transport and currently working on a long term project called Development Analysis and Strategic Planning (DASP). DASP will be a research, training and consultancy project which CSPS will provide to measure the performance of the Brunei Government’s National Development Plan (Wawasan 2035) and advise on future development scenarios.
Two of the research team have previously undergone up to mid-level training in Strategic Planning and would need a refresher’s course while the rest would need basic training. For Horizon Scanning, eight researchers will need to be trained on basic methodology. The aim is to have all researchers eventually trained up to mid or advanced levels. All researchers hold at least UK equivalent Masters to PhD degrees in Social Sciences.
Interested UK universities may contact cecile.dasal@britishcouncil.org.my with information on programmes, duration and dates by 19 October 2015.
