The Vocational Training Council (VTC), Hong Kong’s largest vocational education provider, would like to find partners for one-way (or preferably two-way) short term student exchange. The Hong Kong apprentices are on higher diploma or craft level programmes. Most of them are in the following programme areas:
a. Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (including Building Services Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,Lift and Escalator Engineering, Air-conditioning
and Refrigeration, Fire Services Engineering, Welding Technology & Inspection,
Gas Services Engineering, Telecommunications and Surveillance Technology)
b. Construction
c. Printing
d. Retail
e. Watch and Clock
f. Automobile
g. Testing and Certification
h. Retail
The intended duration of exchanges would be 10 days to two weeks.
In addition, the VTC would like to explore the possibility of short term industry attachment.
The VTC would also appreciate the opportunity to meet with any relevant organisations who can provide insights into the UK’s apprenticeship system.
