The purpose of this film series is to complement our existing efforts to promote study in the UK at universities and university colleges through the EducationUK and SIEM programmes in the USA and Canada. The series will provide a suite of engaging content that will resonate with prospective US and Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate recruits. This series in particular leverages student perceptions that the UK has, along with the US, the strongest academic profile internationally.

We are initially producing 10 films to be used in our digital promotion. Depending on the performance of these films we may add more to the series later in the financial year.

These short films will feature UK academics speaking about their field of study with an animation overlay. These inspirational videos will profile a range of popular subjects, drawing on academics that represent the breadth of the UK Higher Education sector.

How you can participate:

We are looking to UK universities to nominate academics for us to choose from. We will be making selections primarily based on the fit between the academic and our campaign objectives but a strong consideration will also be to ensure that the breadth of institutions types and locations is represented.

• One academic nomination per university by international office
• Academics expert in Social sciences, Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts, Business or STEM fields.
• Academic must be available on shooting days and for pre-shoot consultation.
• A strong preference will be given to academics with prior video interview experience and with a demonstrable interest in advocacy work for their field of study.
• Our aim is for our series to represent the diversity of UK academics (geographical, gender, ethnicity)

Question we've been asked:
• "Can we nominate a pair of academics who work together, for one film?"
• Our answer is yes. We would be happy to film a pair of academics to be featured on one film for your University, however, no more than two. The academics must actively be working together at your University and must speak about their work together.

Costs
• University must make a £750 (exc. VAT) contribution to the costs of filming.
• University must cover all transport and subsistence costs associated with participation.
