About the Education Evaluation Centre of Shanghai Private Education Association

China’s private education sector has been developing rapidly over the past few years, and Shanghai now has more than 500 kindergartens, 180 primary schools, 100 middle schools, 15 polytechnic colleges, and nearly five universities in its private education sector. In order to ensure their quality, Shanghai is now enforcing inspections on private education institutions.

Shanghai Private Education Association’s Education Evaluation Center was founded in 2012 as an independent quality assurance and evaluation agency. Last year, it developed a ranking of private schools and education institutions in Shanghai, which was commissioned by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
