Peru’s ‘National English Teaching Plan in Basic Education’ for 2015-2021, implemented with the assistance of UKTI Education, is a programme of English language and pedagogical training for teachers and teacher trainers in HE institutes and state schools across the country. Below are 2 new opportunities connected to the programme and focused on quality assessment and programme design, both of which will be funded by the British Embassy in Lima.
1) Review and redesign of the National Curriculum of English language teacher development in Peruvian public teacher training institutes and schools
Are you an organisation with proven experience in curriculum analysis and design?
The British Embassy in Lima and UKTI Education are seeking an institution specialized in analysis and review of teacher training systems, to work with the Peruvian Ministry of Education (MINEDU) for the design of a new curriculum and ongoing model for improving curricular management. The aim of the project is to improve upon the existing initial teacher training programme, and to provide a viable framework for ongoing assessment and improvements.
2) Design of a model for monitoring and evaluating the English language immersion programme for state secondary school teachers of English in Peru
Are you an organisation with proven experience in designing evaluation and monitoring models for language training programmes?

The British Embassy in Lima and UKTI Education are seeking an institution specialized in monitoring and evaluating language training programmes, to work with the Peruvian Ministry of Education (MINEDU) for the design of a system for assessing the efficacy of the English language immersion syllabus which forms part of MINEDU’s in-service teacher training initiative for state secondary teachers of English. The aim of the project is to provide a replicable model for reliably measuring the success of the training, and allowing for effective ongoing management of and improvements to the immersion programme.

Bids for one or both tenders must be submitted to UKTI Education by 13.00 on Wednesday 28 October; ‘soft copy’ in PDF format will suffice.  UKTI Education and MINEDU will then make a decision on the allocation of the work.

To support organisations in deciding whether to bid for these opportunities or not, UKTI Education will be holding Q&A tele-conferences in the week beginning 19 October.  Should you wish to participate, and for a copy of the Terms of Reference, please email caroline.wallace@ukti.gsi.gov.uk .
