OSTIM Technical University is looking to explore partnership opportunities with UK institutions in a range of areas.

About the opportunity

The university is keen to establish bilateral agreements with interested UK universities to develop transnational education, dual degrees for undergraduate and masters’ programmes, as well as staff and student exchanges. 

Specifically, they are looking to collaborate on student exchanges, faculty exchanges, the recognition of approved courses and credits, the exchange of academic information and materials, and the organisation of academic study programmes, joint research programmes and joint conferences, workshops and symposia. Coming from a technical and logistical background, the university is also looking to run joint exchange programmes for academics on entrepreneurship, IP, IT, AI, admiralty law, aircraft law, maritime law financial law, data science, cyber security and synthetic biology. It is one of the few institutions in Turkey to conduct research on quantum computing as well as drone technology for civil use.

To date, OSTIM Technical University has signed 51 memorandum of understanding agreements in 31 countries.

About the university

Founded in 2017, OSTIM Technical University has the vision of becoming the ‘university of industry’. In strong co-operation with business, industry and society.

The university focuses on:

  • providing education, research and application infrastructure and facilities in accordance with international standards and incorporating on-the-job training into the curriculum
  • providing the knowledge and equipment required by the competitive business world (achieving 95 per cent graduate employment)
  • playing an active role to increase science and technology competency in Turkey

OSTIM Technical University was established in accordance with the Article of Law no.6005 in July 2017. OSTIM Technical University is in Ankara. According to the figures pertaining to the 2022 academic year, it has three faculties, two institutes and total undergraduate enrolment of 5,313. The total number of academic staff in the university is 179, including 31 professors, 11 associate professors and 68 assistant professors – the rest being senior lecturers, lecturers, and research assistants.
