A university consortium in the Philippines is seeking new collaborations with UK universities for developing faculty and research capacities in following areas:

  • health and medical sciences
  • gender studies
  • music
  • digital designs
  • hotel, restaurant and institutional management

The South Manila Educational Consortium (SMEC) is a consortium of 12 Philippine public and private universities whose collective goal is to promote the cause of quality and accessible education through internationalisation in their respective universities. SMEC is set to visit the UK on 18-22 March 2019 to conduct follow through meetings with existing links in the UK and meet new potential partners.

In this regard, we would like to invite interested UK universities which share the same areas of priorities of partnerships to meet the SMEC universities on 18 March 2019, 14.00-17.00 at the Philippine Embassy, London. There will be opportunity for brief presentation of the SMEC institutions and discussions between SMEC and UK universities.

Below is the list of SMEC institutions. Each will be represented by the institution’s Presidents or Vice Presidents.
