British Council Philippines, in partnership with the Philippine Football Federation, is looking for UK universities/Football Academies which could host and train the country’s under 14 National Team composed of 22 players and six coaching staff.

This partnership aims:

  1. To provide the Philippines' Under 14 Football National Team a multi-cultural experience in the UK focusing on the provision of classroom-based UK education and world class training in football skills
  2. To prepare the National Team for the following major events: A) Youth Club 2014 in Singapore, B) FIFA Under 19 World Cup in 2019, and C) 2024  Olympics
  3. To provide the National Team the experience of watching an English premier league game

The National Team is expected to be in the UK between April and August 2013. We are looking at a two to three weeks programme that will focus on developing the skills of the Under 14 players. The programme is envisioned to involve regular matches between the National Team and UK teams of the same age bracket (two to  three times a week). Classroom-based learning or taught lessons, in a class composed of local or international participants, on relevant subjects. Accommodation and full board meals for the entire stay will be ideal along with lessons on UK style football and strategy for coaching staff.
