Opportunity

Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU) is looking for a UK partner to develop a joint institute in the subject areas of Fashion and Creative Design. Programmes could include, but not be limited to, fashion design, fashion design and engineering, textile pattern design, artistic design, industrial design, product design, environmental design, architecture, digital media art and animation. The undergraduate joint programmes should be either 3+1 or 4+0. The joint institute will aim to enrol 150 students per year and will provide a platform for further collaboration in teacher training, curriculum development, student and staff exchange and joint research.

UK partner

The UK partner will be expected to work closely with ZSTU to develop joint curricula for the courses, support the enrolled students in English language leaning and professional courses, provide staff to teach parts of the curriculum and support the quality assurance of the joint institute and participate in administrative management of the joint institute.

Zhejiang Sci-Tech University

ZSTU will be responsible for gaining approval for the joint institute from the Ministry of Education and Zhejiang Provincial Education Commission, recruiting students for the programmes, providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical and financial support, and supporting the quality assurance of the joint institute.

About ZSTU

Located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province and hometown of Alibaba, ZSTU was established in 1897 and has a long history of silk fashion design and creative industry development.  It is one of the key state construction universities in Zhejiang province. Over the years ZSTU has trained a large number of talents in both the fashion and creative design industries and is home to the national fashion experimental teaching centre. According to the Chinese Designers Association, ZSTU’s fashion design and engineering education and teaching is amongst the highest quality in China.
