British Council Malaysia will be organising a digital campaign, focusing on E-Commerce and Digital Marketing, in order to take advantage of increasing student interest in this area and to provide an opportunity for you to position yourself as the institution of choice.

Campaign Benefits and Outcomes:

1. Cut through noise and effectively use online channels to reach a relevant Malaysian student audience.

2. Effectively engage Malaysian student prospects with relevant, localised content.

3. Increase brand awareness and positioning of your institution. As we plan to only feature a limited number of universities for each subject, each month, your university will receive maximum exposure.

4. Highlight your strengths in this specific subject area to a relevant audience.

Market Context

1. Among ASEAN countries, Malaysia has the highest level of online shopping penetration with 67% of Malaysians online. This shows how digital marketing, will grow in increasing importance. The Malaysian government too has been quick to recognise the potential in the digital marketing industry, opened the world’s first Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) in an attempt to accelerate digital advancement in Malaysia. As this recognition of potential in e-commerce continues, there is an advancing notion that digital marketing in Malaysia is expanding, substantially increasing the requirement for candidates in the area, and there has been a surge in demand for digital marketers in the last 12 to 24 months. 2. TalentCorp Malaysia reported that various marketing and advertising positions have been listed in the 2019/20 Critical Occupational List report. It is mainly due to the increase in trend of digital marketing, which includes digital assets management and content management on social media sites.

3. According to the HESA statistics, the percentage of students who went to the UK to pursue a business-related course has always been 45 to 50 percent of the total number of students in the past 2 years.
