Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), one of Malaysia’s leading technical universities for engineering- and technology-based programmes, is keen to explore partnerships with potential UK universities which are participating in the Turing Scheme, to offer UK students the opportunity to undertake education mobility at the university in Malaysia in September 2021.

Pending the easing of travel restrictions, UMP is willing to host incoming UK students on the Turing scheme, at its campuses in Pekan and/or Gambang, located in the state of Pahang, Malaysia.

UMP has a strong culture of active participation in various international mobility programmes including Erasmus+ (https://cir.ump.edu.my/index.php/en/international-program/student-mobility-program)  and are open to exploring reciprocal arrangements for student exchange and mobility with the potential UK partner.

Benefits for UK partners:

  • Students are able to undertake a culturally enriching mobility experience that will broaden their horizons and provide wider perspectives at an established technical university in Malaysia.
  • UK university has the opportunity to explore reciprocal arrangements which could translate into sustainable mobility programmes which raise the UK institution’s profile and brand awareness in Malaysia, with a view to enhance future student recruitment.
  • Opportunity to expand this initial partnership into broader international cooperation between the two institutions given that UMP is a premier technical university.
