Northwest University in Xi’an is looking for UK partners to cooperate in articulation undergraduate programmes in the fields of geography, chemistry and material science and cultural heritage.

Benefits for the UK partners

This is an opportunity for the selected UK partners to establish long-term partnerships with one of the top comprehensive universities in Xi’an in Northwest China. As well as establishing articulation programmes the opportunity will provide potential for expansion into other fields, such as student and faculty exchange programmes or joint research. It is also an opportunity for the UK partners to raise their profiles in Northwest China, which may benefit student recruitment.

Areas of responsibility for the two collaborating parties

The selected UK partners will be expected to work with Northwest University to:
• develop the curricula for the articulation programmes
• provide support in the quality assurance of the programmes
• issue bachelor degrees to students on successful completion of the programmes
Northwest University will be responsible for:
• promoting and recruiting students for the programmes
• providing qualified teaching staff as well as the required teaching premises and logistical support for the articulation programmes
• supporting prospective students in preparing to study in the UK as part of the programmes

About Northwest University

Northwest University (NWU), located in Xi’an, was founded in 1902. It is under the joint administration of the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi province. NWU has three campuses, comprising of 22 schools and departments as well as a graduate school. It offers 83 undergraduate degree programmes, 189 masters programmes and 107 doctoral programmes. The University has approximately 2,500 members of faculty and staff and a student population of over 23,000. NWU has been selected as one of the leading universities sponsored by the national “211 Project”. It also enjoys national support from the “One University for One Province Initiative”.
