The British Council is delighted to support NISAU UK (National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK) on the hugely successful India UK Achievers programme that was first organised over the course of 2022-2023. This celebrated UK alumni’s achievements in India and globally, and promoted the UK as a destination of choice for Indian students. It is also supported by the Department for Business and Trade, Universities UK International, Chevening, UK Council of International Student Affairs and ETS TOEFL.
Given this award-winning initiative’s success and demand, it will now be conducted annually. Three core components form part of the enhanced programme, targeting the complete student lifecycle. We have also provided below how you can be involved with the whole programme and the separate parts, these include sponsorship and participation opportunities:
- Achievers Honours – open to alumni, current students and student societies to apply across 9 categories. Five finalists will be shortlisted per category and invited to attend the gala celebrations in London, where winners and highly commended finalists will be announced.
- Achievers Dialogues – targeted at prospective students, showcasing to them the ‘art of the possible’ with a UK education. It will facilitate conversations around key global topics with UK alumni and provide helpful guidance on prospective students’ Study UK journey.
- India UK Education Conference – newly commissioned, the inaugural conference aims to provide a strategic platform for leaders in the UK and Indian HE sectors to interact directly with students, alumni and those that support international HE. It will enable the sharing of knowledge and leading practice to shape the future of international education in the India-UK corridor, placing young people at the heart of these conversations. Thematic areas such as the skills agenda, employability, student outcomes, and transnational education will be explored through a series of plenaries, breakouts and keynotes.
