The British Council in Cyprus invites UK institutions to a webinar on New Apolyterion Assessment Methods, delivered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth.
The British Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth http://www.moec.gov.cy/ organizes a webinar to address the latest changes on Apolyterion assessment criteria and offers the opportunity to UK universities to ask questions and get a clear understanding of what is changing.
The webinar aims to support UK university admissions when recruiting students from Cyprus, by providing the latest updates on assessment methods for this years’ Lyceum graduates. In June 2022, Cyprus will have its first graduates with the new Apolyterion, following the recent changes on assessment methods.
The UK remains the preferred choice for Cypriot students despite the recent changes with the country’s exit from the EU. According to the latest HESA statistics of 2019/20, 8,950 Cypriot students are currently studying in the UK. A number which indicates that the UK is currently in the first position for Cypriot students abroad after Greece.
Many Cypriot applicants are graduates from public schools, with the Cyprus Apolyterion being the main qualification for their admission at a UK university.
Webinar will be delivered by Mr Nicolas Yiasoumis, Head of Inspectorate of Secondary General Education Directorate, on Wednesday 03 November 1100-1200 UK time.
The meeting link will be shared via email after registration.
